We’re located in the heart of the village of Windeyer, NSW
1883 Windeyer Road, Windeyer, NSW, 2850

- What are your opening hours?
Our opening hours vary by day. Please check our Opening Hours page for the most up-to-date times before visiting.
- Do you serve food every day?
Yes, food is available on our main trading days during kitchen hours. Kitchen times may differ from bar opening hours.
Yes, we have pies available every day the bar is open.
- Do I need to book a table for a group?
Group Bookings are highly recommended so you can all seat together- especially on weekends, public holidays, and for larger groups. Walk-ins are always welcome.

- How do I make a booking?
You can book by phone or text or via our Contact Us page. For special requests, we recommend calling us directly so we can have a chat and make your visit special.
Food & Drinks
- Do you offer vegetarian or gluten-free options?
Yes. We offer a range of vegetarian options and can cater to most dietary requirements. Please let our staff know when ordering.
- Do you have a kids’ menu?
Yes, we offer a kids’ menu with family-friendly options.

- What kind of drinks do you serve?
We offer a wide selection of beers, wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages, including local and Australian favourites.
Tooheys ON TAP Hahn Superdry, Tooheys New, Tooheys Old and XXXX
We have about 16 varieties of Stubby Beers including Zero Beers, Great Northern etc
We have about 18 varieties of canned spirits like 196, Bundy, Hard-Rated, Cruisers etc
Wines we have about 12 varieties to choose from by the bottle or by the glass.
- Do you serve takeaway food or drinks?
Takeaway options are available depending on the day/time and licensing requirements. (usually till 10pm) Please check with staff at the Bar
Groups, Events & Functions
- Do you cater for group bookings?
Yes, we welcome group bookings and can accommodate groups. Advance notice is highly recommended so you can all sit together.
Calling is best so we can make it special for you.
- Can I host a private event or function at the hotel?
Absolutely. We host birthdays, celebrations, casual gatherings, and private functions. Contact us to discuss your needs.
We have an undercover outdoor area, plus 2 dining rooms and an open outdoor area.
We offer an event menu - so please give us a call to discuss.
- Do you offer set menus for events?
Yes, set menus and tailored food options are available for functions and larger groups.
Family, Accessibility & Pets
- Is the Gold and Fleece Hotel family-friendly?
Yes, families are very welcome. We offer kid-friendly meals and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.
- Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
We aim to be as accessible as possible.
we have a ramp on the front entry with wide door openings.
Please contact us if you have specific access requirements so we can assist.
- Are dogs allowed?
Well-behaved dogs are welcome in designated outdoor areas. Please check with staff on arrival.
Practical Information
- Is there parking available nearby?
Yes, there is parking available close to the hotel, street parking, or parking in front of the hotel.
- Do you accept card payments?
Yes, we accept all major debit and credit cards. Cash is also great.

- Do you open on public holidays?
We are often open on public holidays, though hours may vary. Check our website or social media for updates.
Generally Public Holidays we have big Theme Days, like tonnes of family events on Australia Day, Easter Day, New Years Eve etc

History & Community
- Is the Gold and Fleece Hotel historic?
Yes, we’re proud to be a historic country pub with a rich local history and strong community roots. Read more about the history of the pub.
- Do you support local producers or the community?
We love supporting local suppliers, brewers, and community events whenever possible.
The pub does fundraising Raffles every Friday night to charities the locals choose.
Next door to the Pub is Leaky Tea-Cup Nursery https://www.facebook.com/Leakyteacup/ - a really awesome unique plant nursery that also sells animals, chickens, ducks, guinee pigs etc and stock feeds, fencing stuff and all.
You'll love the hanging "Witches" and funny oranents all around the nursery.
The Village has the WPA "Windeyer Progress Association" host and cook for lots of events like Dog shows, Endurance Rides, Car Swap Meets, Clearance Auctions, Dances etc Great Kitchen and a really nice fitted out Hall with a stage.
Crown Lands management look after the Windeyer Playground and the upkeep of the grounds and Overflow Camping for $10 per person per night.
The Village also has the "W.A.T.C.H" group a group of residents that get together for morning teas, excercise classes, men's groups etc
Next door to the Left of the pub is Bushlands https://bushlands-windeyer.com.au/
Bushlands is the Post Office, Gas supplies, General Store, Tourist Park with cabins and space for your caravan, tent, swag etc. Hot showers, washing machines, dryers and a camp kitchen.
Across the road and down a little from the Pub is the famous Red Rattler accomodation. https://redrattlerretreat.com.au/
